Walter W. Banker, 76, died January 15 in Woodstock, Ill. Formerly from New Jersey, and Florida, later moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he created Direct Carpet, the largest retail floorcovering business in that city during the 1970s. He is survived by former wife, Saundra; children, Guy, Kevin, Wayne, Walter III; grandchildren, Amanda Banker and Ashton Banker. Published in the Northwest Herald on Feb. 18, 2017.
