Eleanor Leppert Hiles, age 92 a lifelong Salem County resident passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Carneys Point Care Center. Born October 18, 1919 in Deepwater, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evalena (nee Shimp) Leppert. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Harold "Toby" Hiles, son Harold "Skeeter" Hiles, Jr., daughter Dorothy Lee Beckwith, sisters, Dorothy Strong and May Leppert, brother Joseph Leppert, stepfather William J. Bradley, stepbrother William J. Bradley and stepsister Theresa Green. Mrs. Hiles is survived by her son Robert (Mary) Hiles of Lyman, SC, daughter Evalena (Charles) Weber of Woodstown, Anna (Bing) Pennington of Pennsville, 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren and her daughter-in-law Joy Hiles. A graveside service will be held 11 AM Monday in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove. The family would like to thank Carneys Point Care Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for caring for Eleanor in her final days.
