David Edward Irving, 89, of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015.
David was born in Philadelphia, PA, on March 16, 1926, to David Sr. and Catherine (Taylor) Irving. David proudly served our country in the Army during WWII. In 1953 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth, she passed away on February 8, 2014. David retired from CertainTeed and Lake City. David and Elizabeth enjoyed their time at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he loved to fish. While at home he enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include daughters Marcella Dixon, Jackie Lariviere, Donna Jo Rives, and Fay Clark and son-in-law, Dale Clark; brother Ken Irving; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. David is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth, his parents, and a sister Mrs. Lillian Dodge.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Sycamore Hill Baptist Church or the Gideon International. Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com
