An American Military Hero
Robert (Bob) T. Benzenhafer 84, of Satsuma, Florida passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at his home after a lengthy illness. Robert was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on Friday, May 23, 1924 to the late Howard B. and Letitia K. Benzenhafer. Robert faithfully served his country proudly in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during WWII. Bob worked for the Keebler Cookie Company for 36 years, was a member of the V.F.W. Palatka and the Moose Lodge #1641 in Crescent City. He was a member of the Welaka United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years Joyce E. Benzenhafer of Welaka, Florida; son: Charles (Charlie) Benzenhafer of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; daughter Sara Benzenhafer of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; adopted children: Larry, Bessie Victoria and Katina Benzenhafer all of Satsuma, Florida; sister: Nettie of Palm Coast, Florida; Many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. A Celebration of Robert's life will be at 12 noon, Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Watts Funeral Home Chapel in San Mateo, Florida. Military honors will be bestowed following the service.
