Mary Evelyn Curtis Mason
Mary E. Mason, 50, of 1200 E. John St., Decatur, Ill. was found dead in the rear seat floor of a 1964 Rambler four-door, which was parked in a bean field 3-1/2 miles east and a quarter mile south of Parkersburg.
The body was found at about 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon, but it is believed that the car and body had been parked there since last Monday, September 30. The car was parked in a secluded spot. Several persons have reported today that they saw the car parked there, but believed it was a hunter's car. Mrs. Mason had not been reported missing, according to authorities.
Mrs. Mason is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Tim (Dottie Lou) Ridgely of Parkersburg; three grandchildren; her father and step-mother, Roy and Elsie Curtis of Albion; and two sisters, Mrs. Frances Karin of Worthington, Ohio and Mrs. Kenneth Briggs of Albion.
Services at the Nale Funeral Home in Albion with Rev. Frank Pierce in charge. Burial at Graceland Cemetery in Albion.
