Above we have two documents in reference to the marriage of Aaron Leppert and Martha Eden. The top picture shows the New Jersey Index entry for their marriage. The bottom picture is the actual ledger from Saint James Methodist Church, Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey. The wedding took place on June 24, 1883. Aaron was approximately 17 years old while his bride was 15.

Note that Aaron had been raised a Roman Catholic. Either Martha was Methodist, or perhaps they eloped and that was the church that agreed to marry them.
