Paul Leppert was a former Freeholder (elected in 1897) and owned and operated a bakery at French and Plum Streets with his brother, Aaron Leppert. He was a member of the New Brunswick Elks, the Goodwill Council No. 32, the Jr. O.U.A.M., and the Raritan Engine Company, No. 4. He died at his house, 50 Seaman St., due to diseases, which had induced paralysis. He was 43 years an 9 months at the time of his death. He was survived by his wife, Catherine E. (nee: Cavalier) Leppert, daughters Ellen, Grace/Bertha, and Helen Leppert, and his son William Milton Leppert. Interment took place on July 3, 1904.
