The Darrah surname was prominent in the history of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Fortunately, Historical Records show taxpayers within Bucks County, listed by town, during the period of 1782 to 1860. It is in the town of Plumstead that we first find reference to an Archibald Darrah paying his taxes in 1811. These historical records show that Archibald paid his taxes from the town of Plumstead in the years 1811 to 1829. The records from 1810 do not have a listing for him nor is there one for him in 1830. In the year 1827 we also find a listing for Archibald's son John F. Darrah. They appear together until from 1827 until 1829.

In 1830 it is interesting to note that both Archibald and John F. Darrah appear on the tax rolls from Buckingham. This was the sole entry for the both from this location. Searching Buckingham for the years 1828 and 1831 show no other Darrah listings. (There was no 1829 tax listing from Buckingham.).

Starting again in 1831 we find Archibald and John F. listed from the town of Solebury. We point out that Plumstead and Solebury border each other. Regardless of the significance of that factor, Archibald paid his taxes from Solebury from 1831 to 1837. The last year we find Archibald paying his taxes in Bucks County was 1837. Aside from the above mentioned locations within Bucks County the only listings for an Archibald Darrah was an 1800 listing from New Britain.
