Lachenmaier, 64y, Bethany Home for the Aged, Irvington, NJ, 7ft, Lot 60C, 1 front Research Information: Johann Georg Lachenmaier, s/o Jacob Friederick Lachenmaier (1799-1865) & Anna Maria (nee Weidle) Lachenmaier (1803-1849), b. 1/6/1844 at Gerlinger, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany".
This information was crucial because although we previously knew the full name of Johann's father, we only knew his mother was named Anna Maria. Not only does the cemetery information provide us her maiden name but also the town in Germany she was from. This crucial information helped us locate further ancestors from German archives.
Additionally, this infomation provides us an exact date and location for Johann's birth.
At this juncture no picture is available for Johann's headstone. It must be noted however that Woodland Cemetery has suffered from tremendous vandalization. The cemetery abutts an impoverished area of Newark.
