LAKE GEORGE — Caroline Marie Becker, 93, a resident of Lake George, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 25, 1923 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Emery and Etta (Leppert) Mead. Mrs. Becker retired in 1985 from the New York State Department of ENCON. She was a member of the Business Professional Women's Club, where she received Woman of the Year. Caroline was a very proud parent raising her three children and seeing their accomplishments as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, animals and was an accomplished pianist. Besides her parents; she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; her sister, Margaret Walters; her son in law, Joel Clugstone and three brothers- in- law, David Walters, Robert Johnson and William Schipmann. Survivors include her son, Raymond Becker (Lynn) of Edinburg; her two daughters, Mari Caroline Becker of Middle Grove, Betsy Clugstone of Queensbury; her four grandchildren, John Becker (Barb), Jason Becker (Carrie), Darrah Stranahan, Matthew Stranahan and his fiancé Urliki; her four great grandchildren, Emily, Christopher, Ryan, Andrew; her two sisters, May Johnson of Pennsylvania, Marion Schipmann of Queensbury and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at the Caldwell Presbyterian Church, 71 Montcalm Street, Lake George. Burial will take place in the spring at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Cemetery, Lake George, NY. There are no calling hours scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of the Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Rd, Queensbury, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Caldwell Presbyterian Church, 71 Montcalm Street, Lake George, NY 12845.
