An American Military Hero



SAYREVILLE - Benjamin Stelmaszek (Stelmasky) of 29 Jacobsen St., died last night at his home after a long illness.

A native of Sayreville, and the son of the late Casimir and Catherine Stelmaszek, he was a communicant of St. Stanislaus R.C. Church.

He retired a year ago from the DuPont F & F Division, where he had been employed for 28 years. A veteran of World War I, he was a memeber of the St. Michael Society; Lenape Post 211, American Legion; the DuPont 25 Year Club; Parlin Employes Association and the Second District Democratic Club.

Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Lis; two daughters, Mrs. Cecilia Koflanovich of town and Mrs. Florence Barglowski in Germany; a son, Alfred of Milltown; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Michalowski and Mrs. Helen Gardner of South River; two brothers, Thomas of town and Walter of South River; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St., followed by a 9:00 a.m. solemn requiem mass at St. Stanislaus Church.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.
