1940 United States Federal Census for the Bunker Family.

The family was living at 264 Drift Street, New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey.

James was still working as a self-employed painter. We assume the information on the census is fairly accurate. That being said, it would appear that the Great Depression took a toll on the Bunker family. The 1930 census, taken at the beginning of the depression, had the Bunker's residing in their owned home in North Brunswick. By the 1940 census, at the end of the depression, they were back in the city of New Brunswick and renting.
