Roberta Jane Latham Garretson

Roberta Jane Latham Garretson, 86, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at Indian River Medical Center. She was born on October 8, 1927 in New Brunswick, New Jersey and had been a resident of Vero Beach since moving from Bay Head, NJ in 1994. Roberta was the daughter of Roy and Maude Latham the youngest of three siblings, and the only girl in the family. Her brothers' names were Ralph and Ken (killed in WWII). Roberta grew up in the same town she was born and met her husband, Alan Garretson in 1943. They married in 1950 and had three children, Shelly, Suzanne and Peter. Together, they owned and operated a trucking company based in East Millstone, NJ.
Roberta is survived by her daughter, Shelley Krauszer, her husband, Joseph Krauser; son-in-law, Robert Stillman; brother-in-law, Robert Garretson, sister-in-law, Helen Garretson; granddaughter-in-law, Mary; five grandchildren, Kris, Jon, Jak, Garrett and Laura and two great grandchildren, August and Maggie. Roberta was a very loving, gentle and kind person. She was a true believer in "family first" and will be missed greatly by her family and the many close friends that she had.
