WILLIAMSBURG - Barbara A. Seibert, 53, of Williamsburg, died Monday, April 28, 2008.
She graduated magna cum laude from State University of New York at Brockport, and earned a master's of science in administration of justice from American University, also magna cum laude. She had over 17 years experience in the domestic violence field, where she had experience funding and implementing programs. She ran the Victim-Witness Assistance Program for York and Poquoson before being named the Director of Avalon. Her background in public administration, human resources and community services was well-suited for the Avalon board. She is preceded in death by her father, Aloisius C. Kajdan and a brother, the Rev. Paul Kajdan.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Paul John Seibert; a daughter,
Carolyn M. Seibert of Williamsburg; her Mother, Alexandra M. Kajdan of South Carolina; two sisters, Joanne A. Zieziula and husband James of South Carolina, and Kathryn M. Pyjas and husband, Charles, of New York;
one brother, Robert A. Kajdan of Calif.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at the St. Bede Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Williamsburg Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Home.
